MOLearns accepts new students between August and March.
In order to begin MOLearns, you must first fill out the online Interest Form linked below. Then in July, you will receive an email from the MOLearns office with instructions on how to complete the Application process, including scheduling a virtual onboarding and placement testing appointment. Once completed, you will be assigned to a MOLearns teacher and an online orientation course. You will then begin studying for your high school equivalency (HiSET or GED) test.

Documentation Requirement
To enroll in Missouri Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) classes, you must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with required school withdrawals and waivers) and present the following:
Valid Missouri driver’s license or Missouri State ID
U.S. or Foreign Passport
Military Identification Card
Before beginning the application process, consider a few things you will need for your online studies:
- Computer that is less than five years old and running Windows 10 or higher
- Reliable high-speed internet with the Chrome browser installed
- Computer speakers and a webcam
- Personal email account and knowledge of using it properly
- Ability to complete a minimum of five hours of study every week
- Willingness to study and prepare for your high school equivalency test
Starting Classes
Classes are ongoing, and new students are added to classes twice a month from August to March. All students are required to have current placement tests in reading, math, and language on file prior to beginning classes. The only exception is if a student has passed a sub-test of the HiSET or GED test.
