MOLearns is a great solution for students who would like to reach their goal of earning a high school equivalency (HSE) but can’t regularly make it to traditional classes. Students can study on their home computer according to their own schedule – day or night. The program is free to residents of Missouri.
To be eligible for the program you must:
– be a Missouri resident and be 17 years old or older.
– not currently be enrolled in high school or secondary school.
– have the ability to take the TABE placement tests.
– study independently with the support of your online teacher.
– communicate with your online teacher regularly.
– have and know how to use an email account.
– know how to use Google Meet.
– have regular access to a computer with internet access.
– have a Missouri Photo ID with your birthdate and a Missouri address.
Please note: Smartphones and tablets are not recommended for online study at this time.
To maintain enrollment in the program you must:
– study and actively participate a minimum of 5 hours a week.
– meet weekly assignment and due date requirements.
– maintain weekly email communication with your online teacher.
– take a TABE post-test at the request of your online teacher.
In order to begin MOLearns, you must first fill out an online interest form. After July 1, you will receive an email from the MOLearns office with instructions on how to set up a virtual onboarding and placement testing appointment. Once completed, you will be assigned to a MOLearns teacher and an online orientation course. You will then begin studying for your high school equivalency (HiSET or GED) test.
