MOLearns is not currently accepting applications. Enrollment opportunities should resume in July.
MOLearns is a great solution for students who would like to reach their goal of earning a high school equivalency (HSE) but can’t regularly make it to traditional classes. Students can study on their home computer according to their own schedule – day or night. The program is free to residents of Missouri.
To be eligible for the program you must:
– be a Missouri resident and be 17 years old or older.
– not currently be enrolled in high school or secondary school.
– have the ability to take the TABE placement tests.
– study independently with the support of your online teacher.
– communicate with your online teacher regularly.
– have and know how to use an email account.
– know how to use Google Meet.
– have regular access to a computer with internet access.
– have a Missouri Photo ID with your birthdate and a Missouri address.
– score a 501 or higher on the reading TABE test.
Please note: Smartphones and tablets are not recommended for online study at this time.
To maintain enrollment in the program you must:
– study and actively participate a minimum of 5 hours a week.
– meet weekly assignment and due date requirements.
– maintain weekly email communication with your online teacher.
– take a TABE post-test at the request of your online teacher.
In order to begin MOLearns, you must first fill out an online interest form. A few days after completing the form, you will receive an email from the MOLearns office with instructions on how to set up a virtual onboarding and placement testing appointment. Once completed, you will be assigned to a MOLearns teacher and an online orientation course. You will then begin studying for your high school equivalency (HiSET or GED) test.
